CU Denver online programs recognized by U.S. News & World Report

Education, Criminal Justice among top ranked programs

The University of Colorado Denver has two of the best online graduate programs in the country according to the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings released in January.

CU Denver’s Master of Criminal Justice online program in the School of Public Affairs was ranked 13thnationally and is in the top three programs in the Western U.S. The School of Education & Human Development’s graduate online program was ranked 47th nationally and first in Colorado.

Key factors in the rankings include student engagement, faculty credentials and training, student services and technology, peer reputation and admissions selectivity.

In addition to the online Criminal Justice program, CU Denver also offers an online Master’s in Public Administration.

“We are very pleased that our online Master of Criminal Justice program continues to be ranked as the top program in Colorado, and among the best in the nation,” said School of Public Affairs Dean Paul Teske. “Graduates of the program are not only prepared for rewarding careers in criminology and criminal justice, but also to become pioneers in evaluating and changing the current system so that it is more responsive to the evolving needs of the community.”

CU Denver currently offers four exclusively online education master’s options with emphases in eLearning, Early Childhood Education, Reading and Writing and School Library. The campus also offers an online alternative teacher licensure program, six online education certificates and two online education endorsements. Both on-campus and online classes encourage students to learn using the very technologies that they will employ as educators of the future.
