New concentrations in Administrative Leadership & Policy Studies (non-licensure) MA
The Office of Continuing & Professional Education is now offering two additional non-licensure concentrations in the 30 credit hour Administrative Leadership & Policy Studies MA program. The application deadline for both concentrations is July 1 for a fall 2016 start.
Higher Education Leadership Concentration
The ALPS-MA (non-licensure) concentration in Higher Education Leadership serves to prepare leaders for positions in Higher Education or community based settings (such as Gear Up or Trio) with the knowledge and skills necessary to support student success in accessing and completing college. As part of the program, students will complete four courses in leadership, one research course and five courses within Higher Education and Student Affairs—these courses are aligned with the Counsel for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS). Urban Education Concentration
The ALPS-MA Concentration Area in Urban Education serves to prepare leaders for positions of advocacy, change, and leadership in critical areas in urban education. The content of the concentration focuses on the history of schooling, curriculum theory, educational policy, and school reform.
