A single artist museum, the Clyfford Still Museum holds the life’s work of visionary artist Clyfford Still (1904–1980), known for his massive, colorful, abstract paintings. The artwork invites all to look closely, form their own interpretations, and express ideas. Still’s work lends itself to imagination, emotion, and inquiry, making it perfect for writers seeking inspiration.

The Museum’s current exhibition, Still in Sound, explores how visitors may experience abstract visual language through sound. Designed to facilitate visceral, whole-body experiences with Still’s work, this exhibition presents abstraction as an active, dynamic medium for interdisciplinary and cross-cultural creative communion. Still in Sound is an example of how we can interpret and respond to Still’s work, and create dialogue among paintings, interpretations, and people.

How can we use the art and sound as jumping-off points to explore our ideas and thoughts? Join us to discover an immersive experience that will inspire, move, and delight.
