Dr. Margarita Tovar has accepted SEHD’s invitation to join us as the keynote speaker for the 2025 Future Teacher Expo, taking place on Friday, October 3.
Bio:
Dr. Margarita Tovar Rosales is the Chief Talent and Human Resources Officer at the Colorado Department of Education, where she leads statewide efforts to strengthen and support the educator workforce. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, con raíces Mexicanas profundas, Margarita carries her family’s values of justicia, comunidad, and educación into every space she leads.
Her previous roles include bilingual paraprofessional, teacher, principal, and principal supervisor. Margarita is a proud Pahara Fellow, a member of the National Women Leading Ed State Executive’s Network, and the first State Agency Delegate for the Colorado Association of Latino School Administrators. Margarita believes in the power of raíces y alas — that our deep cultural roots give us the courage to resist and the wings to reimagine thriving communities.
With corazón and commitment, she works to ensure every student in Colorado has access to excellent educators and every educator feels seen, supported, and valued.
