Dr. Julia Mahfouz, candidate for Assistant/Associate Professor, Leadership for Educational Organizations (LEO) will be coming to campus on Friday, February 7.
A brief bio on Dr. Julia Mahfouz: Dr. Mahfouz’s research explores the social, emotional, and cultural dynamics of educational settings and their effects on school climate and school improvement utilizing qualitative and mixed methodologies. Her work seeks to deepen the understanding of SEL through lenses of a) intervention implementation, b) culturally relevant and sustaining pedagogies, and c) school improvement. She is particularly focused on applying her research to improving principal preparation programs and enhancing the principals’ social-emotional competencies and their capacity to cultivate a supportive equitable learning environment for improved student outcomes and over-all school improvement.
Her research presentation will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 7 in LSC 700. Her presentation is titled, “Exploring the Influence of CARE (Cultivating Awareness and Resilience in Education) on Principals’ Leadership and Well-being ”
