Process clarification for certificates:
- Committee’s role is primarily to review the information provided, not to conduct market analysis.
- The committee is working on which questions to ask for certificates to make sure the certificate fits within the SEHD.

2. COURSE PROPOSAL/REVISION REQUESTS:
Status Item(s) Presenter
Pending EDFN 7800 New Course Margarita Bianco
- Title: Disability Studies in Global and Indigenous Contexts
- An elective course for EdD and PhD students, and advanced MA students
- The CC noted that the learning objectives are strong, wondered which students the course is hoping to attract and requested some clarity around the title.
- Bianco stated that the course is targeted as an elective for doctoral students, especially the JEDI cohorts. There are limited options for their electives, and this would offer a good elective option.
- The course will introduce students to how other cultures and communities around the world, including how Indigenous communities, nationally and internationally, think about disabilities, think about individuals with disabilities.
- Bianco agreed to modify the title to better clarify the objectives and content of the course as it will focus on critical disability perspectives and studies.
ECED 4100/5100 New Course Lori Ryan
- Title: Learning Through Play
- Lori stated that this cross-listed course was introduced as it was a missing component in the suite of early childhood offerings. It also aligns with some community college courses and will allow those students to transfer more easily to CU.
INTE 5250 Revision Joni & Dennis
- Title change to Teaching Strategies for Online Learning
- The course focuses on designing for asynchronous learning experiences. Joni shared that she was doing a lot of the tidying up and aligning of course and course titles in her program. The name was changed to the title to highlight designing to support teaching, learners, and educators and she wanted to make that designing piece a stronger statement.
- Required for the designing and learning certificate
LDT UG Certificate
- New UG certificate Digital Media Design for Learning
- This certificate will help with accepting 60 hours of the AAS degree from community colleges. CLAS will offer this certificate towards the completion of their undergraduate degree.
MTED 7070 Heather Johnson
- Title: (Re)Humanizing Mathematics Teaching and Learning
- Creating the doctoral level course to cross list with MTED 5070
- A required course for EdD/PhD students in the math education concentration.
