The Urgency of Now: Amplifying Evidence-Based Practices in Educator Preparation

Wednesday, October 22, 2024
2:30 PM – 5:00 PM ET

This year’s EdPrepLab Virtual Fall Forum will highlight the power of collective action and the importance of elevating voices from the field. At a time when educator preparation faces both great challenges and opportunities, the forum will focus on historicizing resilience and charting paths forward. We will consider how research-informed practice has influenced policy change and how the Science of Learning and Development (SoLD) continues to serve as an essential framework for the present moment.

By amplifying member stories, creating spaces for connection, and spotlighting upcoming EdPrepLab programming and funding opportunities, this members-only forum will serve as a space for engagement, collaboration, knowledge-building, and mobilizing around the work that matters most.

Featured Speakers:

  • Linda Darling-Hammond, Chief Knowledge Officer, Learning Policy Institute
  • Elena Silva, President and CEO, Learning Policy Institute

During the event, attendees will:

  • Engage with featured speakers in an interactive conversation to explore the historicized resilience of educators in complex times, as well as the fundamental importance of research and collectivity for our field
  • Explore how SoLD can guide program and curricular design in today’s context
  • Learn about upcoming EdPrepLab programming, new seed grants, and publishing opportunities
  • Join breakout sessions on timely topics and build connections for future work
