The Office of Research Services (ORS) will soon announce a funding opportunity for research teams at CU Denver. ORS invites teams proposing novel, ambitious research initiatives with strong potential to elevate CU Denver’s research reputation. This opportunity is open to all disciplines and seeks bold ideas that demonstrate creativity, intellectual merit, and a clear path to competitive extramural support.
ORS anticipates awarding 3–5 grants of $50K–$75K to Denver-based teams that:
- Pursue innovative and original lines of inquiry
- Are positioned to compete for external funding (e.g., federal, foundation, industry)
- Are ready to scale their research with strategic institutional support
There are no thematic constraints at this stage. We especially welcome ideas that:
- Represent a new direction or major expansion of existing work
- Have potential to establish and sustain a center of excellence
- Would benefit from initial funding and proposal development support
