Dr. Leslie Locke, candidate for Assistant/Associate Professor, Leadership for Educational Organizations (LEO) will be coming to campus on Wednesday, March 11.
A brief bio on Dr. Leslie Locke: Leslie Ann Locke received her Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in 2011. Her research interests include leadership for social justice and equity, schooling for students from marginalized groups, equity-oriented education policy, and qualitative methodologies. She is currently examining early college programs (partnerships between institutions of higher education and K12 schools) as social justice policy interventions in education. She served in a leadership role at an Early College High School in Texas from 2007-2011. Leslie has published in a variety of academic journals including the Journal of Cases in Educational Leadership, the International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education, Whiteness and Education, and Educational Studies, as well as three books related to her research interests. She has consistently presented her research at UCEA, AERA, and CRSEA. She is the program co-chair, for the Leadership for Social Justice SIG. .
Her research presentation will be at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11 in LSC 745. Her presentation is titled, “Critical Research and Teaching: So What? Now What? ”
