I thought it might be helpful to clarify what proposal preparation and submission services the Office of Research Services offers, given that there seems to be some confusion about this. Stefan Reiss in ORS is the primary contact along these lines and he has prepared the attached document for your enlightenment. His job description has not changed, but given the uncertain demands on his time, I asked him to prepare a one-pager that would be clear about what he is able to do.
What is not explicitly stated in his attachment is that schools/colleges and departments have obligations to meet in the proposal process as well. Indeed, if a proposal to be submitted does not engage Stefan (see his document), then the responsibility lies outside of ORS, although, if time allows, Stefan is happy to engage. One other point that I think needs to be explicitly stated is that Stefan’s work is largely focused on proposals where the majority of the work will be carried out on the downtown Denver campus.
