For those of you who did not attend the Retreat last week, please make note on your calendars that

the October 28th Faculty Meeting is CANCELLED

as a conflict arose on Dean Kantor’s calendar that she must attend. Another faculty meeting is necessary this semester so it has been rescheduled for Wednesday, November 18th from 9:30-11:45 AM (followed by Ruben’s Full Professor Lecture at Noon). We recognize that this is during Program Meeting time and greatly apologize for this change! Please feel free to use Oct. 28th to meet instead. We will send a calendar invite for the new date to make sure everyone has it on their calendar.

Lastly, the Undergraduate Experiences Symposium will be held THIS Friday, Oct. 2nd in the Student Commons Building, and it promises to be especially informative with a focus on HIP (High Impact Practices). The Keynote Speaker, George Kuh, is excellent! He founded the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)and directs two major national projects on student learning outcomes and alumni. I hope you will join me at the symposium (especially Program Leaders and folks teaching in the new BA). Registrations are still being accepted – click here.

Best,
Rebecca
