@hstry – Live Twitter re-enactment – The Murder of Emmett Till

HSTRY is a great tool for teachers and students to create interactive timelines with text, audio, video, and etc.   
They have also begun leveraging Twitter as a digital storytelling platform to reenact famous historical events – tune in Wednesday (4th of February 2015) starting from 5pm EST via Twitter account @HstryOrg.  They’ll be tweeting from the perspective of Moses Wright.

To coincide with the launch of African-American History Month on Hstry, we have put together a timeline of the tragic event that was the Murder of Emmett Till. The timeline takes place through the eyes of Moses Wright, Emmett Till’s Great Uncle that did the unthinkable in testifying against the (white) murderers in court. His courage is testament to how we should make a stand against oppression whatever the fight and whoever we are. This may have been the first time an African American had stood in open court in the South and accused a white man of a crime — and lived.
