If you have been tracking the memos from President Benson’s office, then you already know that I have been appointed to the search committee for the new Chancellor. We had our “charge meeting” recently to begin the process, a process with a very aggressive timeline.
The next month is about building an applicant pool. We are all being asked to spread the word (I will send you the position description as soon as I have it). Let your colleagues at our institutions know, nominate individuals you would like to see contacted by the search firm , and nominate folks you think would be a good source of names. You can send those nominations directly to the Chair, (Chancellor) Phil DeStefano or to me and I will pass them along. The search committee is especially interested in drawing a diverse pool of candidates.
I will keep you informed as we go along as much as possible, although until the finalists are announced, we are obligated to complete confidentiality. I also hope you will be patient with me this term as I had an already busy one ahead without this time-consuming responsibility. I expect I will be harder to find for a few months.
I wish you all a happy new year and a productive Winter term ahead.
My best always,
Rebecca
