Mental Health/Executive Function Coach Who We are: Collegiate Coaching Services (collegiatecoachingservices.com) is a community-based therapeutic, executive function, and clinical service for teens (16 and older), young adults and families, based in Boulder, Colorado. We support students who attend the following colleges; CU-Boulder, Front Range Community College and School of Mines- Golden. We support high school students, juniors and seniors, who attend area high school. We specialize in the areas of, independent living, recovery from mental health issues, screen overuse issues (e.g. video games, social media, and more), college success, as well as social recovery. The desired professional will be able to work autonomously on the college campus, in the community, in our offices and local libraries and create short term and long-term goals with the clients, motivate clients to achieve their highest potential, collaborate with professionals and parents, and communicate effectively with team members associated with the client.

Job Type:
Full Time at $28.00 /hour. Full time is a minimum of 25-hour per week of client face to face meetings. The position also requires time devoted to individual and group supervision, team meetings, client collaboration meetings and administration time (e.g. writing notes, etc). Total hours may fluctuate at times and total is an average of 30-35 hour per week once your caseload is established (takes approximately 2 weeks on average).

Position Description: The executive function/therapeutic coach hybrid position will work one-on-one with teens (16 and older), young adults and their parents on teaching executive function skills, strengthening executive function skills & life management skills, emotional regulation skills, provide recovery support if indicated, and support students to navigate higher educational institutions. The coach will collaborate with the client, parents at times, and team members, as well as their supervisor to help each client reach their goals. The coach will meet clients on their college campus and at Collegiate’s offices in central Boulder, as well as in the community and at times, if it is a young adult living independently, at their homes. For our teen clients the coach will either meet them at our offices or at a local library.

Position Requirements:
• Master’s degree in counseling psychology or related field.
• Minimum of five years of relevant-direct experience with teens, young adults and families in academic and mental health environments.
• Experience and understanding of executive functioning skills and how these impact life, workplace, and academic success.
• Experience working with teens and young adults with learning differences, neurodevelopmental conditions such as, high functioning Autism spectrum, ADHD and mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression.
• Applicants who are a good match for this position are comfortable with and capable working autonomously, as well as having a variable and flexible schedule, which includes evening and weekend hours. Do not apply if you cannot accommodate coaching meetings during the evenings and weekends, as well as if you are not able to accommodate a flexible schedule vs fixed from week to week.

• Position requires exceptional preparing, planning, organizational and collaboration skills with team members/supervisors.
• Applicant understands and possesses basic relationship skills, which include being empathetic, exceptional ability to listen, validate, and be non-judgmental.
• An ability to interact with parents with a confident, collaborative and directive approach. • Applicant is a self-starter and self-motivated.
• Desired candidate is able to commit to a minimum of 1 year and we are seeking team members who desire being on our team beyond one year for consistent support of students who are often with us beyond one academic year.
• Ability to be directive in your approach; May have engaged and utilized cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and/or solution focused therapy modalities.

Position Preferences:

• Master’s or PsyD in counseling psychology, neuropsychology, educational psychology, social work, with experience both in education and mental health settings with teens, young adults, and parents. • This position is an opportunity for those seeking post-doctorate positions; licensed psychologist on staff who will supervise.

• Experience using motivational interviewing techniques; ability to be directive while empowering client to engage in change talk and behavior.
• Applicant has worked in a college environment.
• Applicant has worked in clinical environments with clients who are receiving support for mental health and recovery issues.

Position Responsibilities:
• Keep up to date and accurate client records.
• Ability to plan and prepare ahead of time for coaching sessions.
• Provide coaching meetings on campus.
• Collaborating with parents and providing updates to parents on son/daughter’s progress. Have a strong willingness to engage with parents to provide updates, encouragement, and more.
• Maintain current knowledge of policies and resources available at higher educational institutions in the Boulder area.
• Create and maintain a safe, healthy, and professional boundary with each client.
• Engage with colleagues and supervisors to discuss strategies to help support clients.
• Continue personal development of learning new research and proven strategies to improve Executive Function, self-motivation, and more.

Other:
Individual and group supervision occurs and supports those seeking to earn hours towards licensure, specifically, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT) supervision hours may be available.
