Application for admissions to DFI includes the following items:
1.) Submission of the online application.
**Include the following:
Statement of Intent Essay
Resume or CV
Non Discrimination Policy
2.) Payment of the application fee.
3.) Request your official undergraduate and graduate transcripts be sent to DFI (from ALL schools attended)
4.) Request two letters of recommendation be sent to DFI
5.) Complete the online personality questionnaire (please complete after your online application and prior to the deadlines – 1st wave = 2/21; 2nd wave = 5/14).

Application Due Dates:
First application round (these will be group interviews):
All application materials are due on February 21st at 11:59pm
If extended, interviews for first wave applicants will be held on February 28th
Second application round (these will be group interviews):
All application materials are due on May 14th at 11:59pm
If extended, interviews for the second wave applicants will be held on May 21st.
Types of students at DFI:
At Denver Family Institute each of our cohorts in the two-year program are made up of three types of students:
· Interns
o Interns at DFI are taking all classes and supervision with DFI. Interns are enrolled in a Master’s degree program. Interns work set shifts at DFI to perform intakes, assign clients, and assist with admin tasks. They receive a scholarship for their work at DFI.
· Pre-Graduates:
o Pre-grads are enrolled in a Master’s program and are able to complete their needed internship requirements for their Master’s degree at the DFI counseling clinic, while also completing requirements for DFI’s two-year certificate program.
· Post-Graduates:
o Post-grads have completed a Master’s or PhD degree in counseling, social work, or related field. Post-graduates come to DFI to specialize in Marriage and Family therapy. Post-grads attend all classes, supervision, and see clients at DFI.
