Apply to the University of Colorado at Boulder Graduate Career Counseling Internship program.  We have sponsored many interns from various Colorado graduate programs over the years with great success. Most of our former graduate interns have gone on to work in University career centers across the nation.

We are starting to interview for our 2018/2019 internship cohort and are recruiting any interested applicants.  If you are not familiar with what we offer, we have included some bullet points below.
Students will benefit from the CU Boulder graduate career counseling internship experience in the following ways. They will:
  • Receive (at least) 240 hours of direct service career counseling experience including undergraduate and students, international students, under-represented students, etc., so graduate interns would gain experience with a wide variety of client issues.
  • Learn about the operation and services offered in a centralized, four-year University career center that operates from a strengths-based approach. We are also part of the Student Affairs division actively developing social justice and inclusivity initiatives.  Our Counseling & Advising Team members come from a variety of backgrounds and training, so graduate interns are exposed to a wide range of professionals who are committed to interns’ success.
  • Receive weekly one-on-one supervision, as well as group supervision and training from engaging, seasoned career professional supervisors committed to the intern’s professional development.
    • The supervisors are: Sandra Rosewell (MA in Adult Education and Counseling, CDF), and Alaina Nickerson (MA in Mental Health Counseling)
  • Develop expertise in various career counseling techniques, including Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Planned Happenstance, and Narrative Theory, among others.
  • Assist with developing, planning, and coordinating career events and presentations.
  • Participate in departmental / campus committees to expand their perspective on relevant and pressing issues in higher education
This is a paid internship: $13 per hour for up to 25 hours per week, depending on the intern’s schedule. We are seeking a diverse candidate pool and would appreciate any referrals. We ask interested students to send us their resume and cover letter no later than January 26th. Interviews will take place between January 8th and February 9th.
We would be happy to share more information with you about our program. Please let us know if you would like to meet in person or arrange a conference call.  Here is a link for more information https://www.colorado.edu/career/about-us/graduate-internship-program
