Mission: To provide an integrative model of care offering primary preventative health and counseling services to the community with a special emphasis on services to under-served populations.
Two clinical treatment settings: a School Based Health Center that includes working with Sheridan School District youth (ages 3 to 18) and their families and a Community Clinic working with adult clinic users. Both clinical settings involve being a part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to provide integrated care and promote health and wellness.
As an intern you can expect:
- Autonomy to significantly strengthen clinical skills along with excellent supervision to direct newly developing skill sets
- To grow and strengthen cultural competency in counseling individuals from marginalized communities such as individuals with low socioeconomic status, Latin@ individuals, and Spanish-speaking individuals
- To facilitate evidence based groups and create support groups
- To work with clients who have a broad range of behavioral health issues— depression, anxiety, grief & loss, substance abuse, trauma
- Participation within an integrated care team with primary care providers, nurses, case managers, and support staff, to provide multidisciplinary integrated care.
