I know, it seems like I just updated the internship manual (because I did!!, in January); however, a few things are changing with internship. We are moving away from paper internship files….and moving everything to an online internship portfolio in Livetext. Basically, all this means is the same paperwork you had to include in a paper internship file, will now be uploaded into an online portfolio in Livetext. This change has a few advantages:
1.) No more lugging around heavy folders 🙂
2.) Students will be able to access their internship file content anytime they need to (even after graduation!!). Given that all students are required to have a livetext account, you have that account for 5 years, so will be able to access your portfolio even after you have left us…
4.) A cool function of Livetext is that you can “share” your portfolio with anyone you wish.. supervisors, employers etc…
3.) We are joining the 21st century and going paperless… 🙂
The updates to the internship manual reflect these changes. In general most everything in the manual is the same from the previous revision (01/2013), but most changes are with regard to the new internship file process. Please take time to become familiar with the internship manual.
