Despite agreement in the research community that an optimal way to address the educational needs and rights of these students is through high quality bilingual education, current policies and practices do not favor bilingual education. Dr. Soltero-Gonz\u00e1lez&#8217;s work examines issues of equity in the education of bilingual Latino students. She will present findings from her research on early biliteracy development.
