{"id":9126,"date":"2017-01-19T20:36:38","date_gmt":"2017-01-19T20:36:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sehd.ucdenver.edu\/impact\/?p=9126"},"modified":"2017-02-03T22:32:05","modified_gmt":"2017-02-03T22:32:05","slug":"university-staff-professional-evaluation-timeline-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sehd.ucdenver.edu\/impact\/2017\/01\/19\/university-staff-professional-evaluation-timeline-2\/","title":{"rendered":"University Staff Professional Evaluation Timeline"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><span style=\"color: #993366\">JANUARY 2017 &#8212;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">Ask employee to complete the 2016 self-evaluation form based upon goals discussed and submitted in their 2016 professional plan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><strong>Important considerations:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Focus on outcomes vs. just listing activities \u2013 <strong><em>ask them to provide evidence of how they have met or exceeded their performance goals throughout the year.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">How does their work support the goals of your workgroup, the department, the SEHD?\u00a0 If this isn\u2019t clear, it is a great opportunity to clarify for the coming year!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #993366\">FEBRUARY 1, 2017<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">Deadline for completed self-evaluation form to be submitted to the supervisor. The supervisor will then add their <em><strong>written<\/strong><\/em> feedback on the self-evaluation form for the coaching discussion.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #993366\">BETWEEN FEBRUARY 1-12, 2017<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/impact.ucdsehd.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/evaluation.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4108 size-medium alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/impact.ucdsehd.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/evaluation-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"evaluation\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a>Meeting between supervisor and employee for performance discussion\/coaching conversation and goal-setting for the year.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #339966\"><strong>NEW<\/strong> <strong>in 2017! Professional Plans for 2017 are to be submitted electronically. The online form can be accessed <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.ucdenver.edu\/secure\/sehd_professional_plan\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>. The form allows the employee to enter their plan goals and save their progress. Best Practice? Once the employee has saved progress on their professional plan, they can collaborate with the supervisor during their coaching meeting to finalize the plan. Please submit Professional Plan <em>AFTER<\/em> the supervisor has approved it<\/strong><strong>. Once submitted online, the plan can no longer be edited. Any mid-year plan changes can be submitted via a new submission or sending edits directly to Jessica Coon.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">Here\u2019s an example of questions to ask to help the coaching conversation (from Henna Innam, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.transformleaders.tv\/five-cs-of-great-coaching-conversations\/\">Transformational Leadership<\/a>):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>\u201cWhat did you do well? What strengths did you use to achieve that?\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>\u201cWhat were things you could have done better? What strengths can you use to achieve that?\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>\u201cHere\u2019s what I observed in terms of what you could have done better (be specific). How do these resonate for you?\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>\u201cIf you were able to master these behaviors how would this help you?\u201d (this is a great question to understand what motivates your coachee).<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #993366\">EVALUATION MEETING FOLLOW UP<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Finalize goals for <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.ucdenver.edu\/secure\/sehd_professional_plan\" target=\"_blank\">2017 professional plan<\/a> and submit form electronically.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #993366\">FEBRUARY 20, 2017<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><strong><em>Submit the following items to Jessica Coon for each of your supervisees:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2016 Self-Evaluation <strong>(include supervisor feedback and justification for any score above Meeting Expectations&#8211;clearly demonstrate why and how the employee exceeded their goals this year)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600\">UNSIGNED<\/span> 2016 Annual Performance Rating Form (includes proposed rating from supervisor)\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #339966\">NEW in 2017! All proposed scores will be reviewed by the Executive Review Committee (ERC consists of Patricia Ball, Christine Feagins, Rebecca Kantor).
