{"id":8977,"date":"2016-12-02T16:28:58","date_gmt":"2016-12-02T16:28:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sehd.ucdenver.edu\/impact\/?p=8977"},"modified":"2017-02-15T19:06:57","modified_gmt":"2017-02-15T19:06:57","slug":"november-3-2016-sac-meeting-minutes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sehd.ucdenver.edu\/impact\/2016\/12\/02\/november-3-2016-sac-meeting-minutes\/","title":{"rendered":"November 3, 2016 \u2013 SAC Meeting Minutes"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: left\">AGENDA<\/h1>\n<p><strong>SEHD SAC Meeting<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>Thursday, November 3 2016 at 3p.m.<br \/>\nLocation: Lawrence Street Center, Room 603<br \/>\nIn Attendance: Jessica Coon, Rachel Cornelius, Lindsay Harn, Tony Romero<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Items To Discuss<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tech Team Pitch for Support\n<ul>\n<li>The Tech Team would like to launch an initiative to reduce the amount of PDFs and Word Documents that exist, wherever possible, for the following reasons:\n<ul>\n<li>Less files stored on the Q drive\u2014less files means less we have to pay each month to back up data<\/li>\n<li>Data will become searchable text on our webpages<\/li>\n<li>Less pdfs and word documents could increase efficiencies in work processes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The SAC has agreed to give the Tech Team some face-time with staff during our next staff meeting in March. We also asked them to provide some action items that we can present to staff.<\/li>\n<li>The SAC will point out anytime we do something \u201cgreen\u201d and share why.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Lunch N Learn Planning\n<ul>\n<li>Rachel Cornelius to lead out<\/li>\n<li>Fall Session: How to Survive the Holidays Without Going Broke<\/li>\n<li>ACTION: Jessica to send out outlook invites to all staff<\/li>\n<li>We will provide the supplies to create the mason jar:\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/decoart.com\/blog\/project\/89\/snowy_mason_jar\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/decoart.com\/blog\/project\/89\/snowy_mason_jar<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Staff of the Month Nomination\n<ul>\n<li>Shakira Anderson, nominated by Jessica Coon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>TYYMMD\n<ul>\n<li>No changes will occur this year, but the SAC will ask the Dean if we can open up the TYYMMD drawings to all staff (including faculty and students).<\/li>\n<li>We do not want TYYMMD to be a staff event only, but a department culture of appreciation; therefore, we want everyone to be eligible for a gift card; however, if that is the case, we don\u2019t feel the funds should come from the staff budget.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Chomp update\n<ul>\n<li>How was the event? Feedback?\n<ul>\n<li>Great turnout this year! But let\u2019s do better next year by:\n<ul>\n<li>Having a costume contest with a gift card reward (and provide some small costume items on hand for people without costumes to wear)<\/li>\n<li>Having more decorations! Rachel was given $75 from our budget to purchase Halloween decorations while they are on sale post-holiday.<\/li>\n<li>Possible face painting idea, if funds allow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Candygram fundraiser results?\n<ul>\n<li>Raised $175, after candygram purchases and food purchases for the CHOMP (tortilla rolls, veggie tray, cookies, plates) we netted $40 which will be spent on purchasing treats and k-cups for the department.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Calendar of Events:\n<ul>\n<li>November\n<ul>\n<li>November 17 \u2013 Lunch N Learn (Holiday Planning)\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/decoart.com\/blog\/project\/89\/snowy_mason_jar\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/decoart.com\/blog\/project\/89\/snowy_mason_jar<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>December\n<ul>\n<li>December 7 at noon &#8211; Cookie Exchange and Contest!\n<ul>\n<li>Lindsay Harn to take pictures of each cookie, we will post recipe (non-pdf or word!\u2014go green!) online with photos and poll staff for best cookie (voting will close on Friday, Dec 9)!<\/li>\n<li>Winners of the cookie contest will be announced at the holiday party and given a gift card<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>December 14 &#8211; Winter Party\n<ul>\n<li>9:30 setup!
