{"id":4526,"date":"2015-03-02T18:57:39","date_gmt":"2015-03-02T18:57:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/impact.ucdsehd.net\/?p=4526"},"modified":"2016-11-01T21:41:42","modified_gmt":"2016-11-01T21:41:42","slug":"minutes-quarterly-staff-meeting-2-24-15","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sehd.ucdenver.edu\/impact\/2015\/03\/02\/minutes-quarterly-staff-meeting-2-24-15\/","title":{"rendered":"Minutes: Quarterly Staff Meeting 2.24.15"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>SEHD Quarterly Staff Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tuesday, February 24 from 11:30-1p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Location: Lawrence Street Center 1150<\/p>\n<p>Attendance: Agena, Anderson, Burrows, Carroll, Clark, Coon, Cornelius, Cummings, Detrie, Emerson, Haug, Hines, Hurt, Kelm, Levy, Linenberger, Lopez, Nimer, Schell, Snyder-Mondragon, Frisk, Harn, Halliday, Zion, Navarro-Gomez, Madera, Ponton, Sarcedo, Hallett, Riepe, Ball, Gallegos<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s New with the SAC<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Employee Recognition Committee\n<ul>\n<li>Recognition Council is now a committee of the SAC and is now the Recognition Committee<\/li>\n<li>Thank You, You Made My Day cards are back up again with a few upcoming changes\n<ul>\n<li>Will create an online form to submit commendations online<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Givers &amp; Receivers will both be recognized and submitted in a drawing for a gift card<\/li>\n<li>Will establish a webpage on the SAC site for employee recognition to be posted publically<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Summer BBQ\n<ul>\n<li>It was voted that a BBQ should be held during the month of June at Rocky Mountain Lake Park. A doodle poll will follow to establish a date.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>SAC\n<ul>\n<li>SAC Roles are:\n<ul>\n<li>Vice-Chairs -Michelle Nimer &amp; Melissa Burrows<\/li>\n<li>Treasurer &#8211; Lindsay Harn<\/li>\n<li>Secretary &#8211; Jessica Coon<\/li>\n<li>At-Large\/Head of Recognition Committee \u2013 Rachel Cornelius<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Our Purpose: to be a liaison between staff and management, to better working relationships among staff and faculty, to help staff grow and improve.<\/li>\n<li>Professional Development Funds are still available\u2014please apply online!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Updates in the SEHD<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New Hire Introductions\n<ul>\n<li>Joe Madera, started January 12 as the NxtGEN Urban Recruiter<\/li>\n<li>Paula Gallegos, started January 1 as the NxtGEN Residency Undergraduate Coordinator<\/li>\n<li>Susan Detrie, Started January 19 as the Instructional Technologist\/Project Coordinator on the eCALLMS grant<\/li>\n<li>Vanessa Navarro-Gomez, started a part-time staff position in December as a Project Coordinator on the NxtGEN grant<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Changes in the SEHD?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>SEHD is hosting their first Alumni Event\n<ul>\n<li>Deserae Frisk is leaving the department for entrepreneurial work<\/li>\n<li>Melissa Burrows is working on a project that will add informational pieces to the hallways of the SEHD. If you have any information you think should be included, contact her.<\/li>\n<li>Aswad Allen will be hosting a golf tournament this summer.<\/li>\n<li>A branding team is working on refining\/developing our department\u2019s brand<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Information submitted after the meeting:<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>Erin Linenberger to be promoted to Admin Assistant II<\/li>\n<li>Scarlett and Meredith, with the aid of professional development funds, were able to attend the Appreciative Advising Conference hosted in January. As a result, they have been able to secure the director of the conference to come and speak at our campus on March 9.
