She will speak to an audience of professional counselors and psychologists who want to gain expertise in counseling South Asian domestic and international students: insights, theories, interventions, ethical issues and competencies. \u201cThis is a huge honor and it is humbling,\u201d Ibrahim noted. The \u201cCollege Counseling in a Multicultural World Conference\u201d seeks out speakers who are leaders in the field of cross-cultural\/multicultural counseling. Ibrahim is a pioneer in the area of cultural issues in counseling and psychotherapy, and has developed several instruments, including the \u201cScale to Assess World View\u00a9\u201d and curricula for four major universities to enhance cultural competence, responsiveness and social justice in counseling and psychotherapy.
