This Call to Action is grounded in the Center\u2019s dedication to identifying and articulating system-level strategies that will improve young children\u2019s learning opportunities and fundamentally reform the first level of education in the United States.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><i>The vision is that infusing P-3 into principal preparation and development systems can influence the vast majority of the nation\u2019s young students, closing both opportunity and achievement gaps that have persisted for decades.<\/i><\/div>\n<div><i>\u00a0<\/i><\/div>\n<div>To achieve this vision, the report focuses on five policy drivers that can influence elementary principals\u2019 skills and knowledge\u00a0<i>at scale:\u00a0<\/i><b>state<\/b>\u00a0policy; the policies and practices of both\u00a0<b>institutions of higher education<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>school districts<\/b>;\u00a0<b>research<\/b>; and\u00a0<b>national organizations<\/b>.
