Fourteen teams from eight states were selected to attend through a competitive application process. Designed as a professional learning retreat, the Institute combines exposure to cutting-edge ideas in P-3 (preschool through 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0grade) reforms with dedicated team planning time to craft a P-3 strategy in their local context.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Speakers included:<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Swati Adarkar, Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of Education<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Meredith Honig, District Leadership Design Lab (DL2) at University of Washington<\/li>\n<li>Dr. M\u00f3nica Byrne-Jimenez, Executive Director of University Council for Education Administration (UCEA)<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Jason Sachs, Deputy Director at the Gates Foundation<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Shantel Meek, Executive Director of Children\u2019s Equity Project at Arizona State University<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>As one participant commented, \u201cThe institute continues to be a game changing experience for our team. This is the 3rd district I have been part of and I\u2019ve learned so much each time and the team building is elevated and new stakeholders are brought on. It\u2019s amazing !
