{"id":19357,"date":"2024-10-24T16:33:15","date_gmt":"2024-10-24T22:33:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sehd.ucdenver.edu\/impact\/?p=19357"},"modified":"2024-10-24T16:33:15","modified_gmt":"2024-10-24T22:33:15","slug":"curriculum-committee-minutes-10-21-24","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sehd.ucdenver.edu\/impact\/2024\/10\/24\/curriculum-committee-minutes-10-21-24\/","title":{"rendered":"Curriculum Committee Minutes (10\/21\/24)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Curriculum Committee Minutes<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Date:<\/strong> October 21, 2024<\/p>\n<p><strong>Members:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jorge Chavez \u2013 co chair<\/li>\n<li>Ester de Jong<\/li>\n<li>Troyann Gentile<\/li>\n<li>Andrea Laser \u2013 co chair<\/li>\n<li>Julia Mahfouz<\/li>\n<li>Dane Stickney<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Staff:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Shakira Anderson<\/li>\n<li>Shannon Hagerman (CPE)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>GENERAL BUSINESS &amp; REVIEW\/DISCUSSIONS:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Update from the program leaders meeting (Jorge)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Discussed the timeline on course proposal forms, so new courses or revisions will be reflected in the 2025-26 academic catalog.<\/li>\n<li>Went over the committee\u2019s dates for reviewing syllabi\/approvals and working on processes and policies.<\/li>\n<li>Shared information on FCQs and the instructor renewal process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Leadership meeting:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Discussed concerns with leadership about curriculum committee reviewing program approvals.\n<ul>\n<li>Committee does not have the bandwidth.<\/li>\n<li>Committee members do not have knowledge where a program will fit in the SEHD and if a program is viable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Program proposals\/changes will now go through program leaders for approval, feedback, collaboration and concerns.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>CC Working Groups<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Syllabus Template Group:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Check on land acknowledgement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Find room for an inviting tone and personalization in the syllabus.<\/li>\n<li>The goal is to have the syllabus completed by spring.<\/li>\n<li>Check on ways to incorporate some template updates into the teacher ed syllabus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Materials and syllabus checklist Group:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Come up with ideas to add faculty materials in one location (Canvas, Teams, Impact).<\/li>\n<li>What materials are needed?<\/li>\n<li>Add a checklist link at the end of the course proposal form.
