The 38th<\/sup>\u00a0annual\u00a0Academic Management Institute<\/b>\u00a0(AMI) for women in higher education will be held in person during the 2024-2025 academic year. AMI is the signature leadership training program of the\u00a0Colorado -Wyoming Network of Women Leaders (CWNWL)<\/a>, a regional affiliate of the American Council on Education. \u00a0Please see the information, below, about the 2024-2025 program.\u00a0 If you are interested in nominating someone, please reach out to Dean Lynn as soon as possible.<\/strong>\u00a0 Please also note the following information about the program and nomination process.<\/div>\n

There\u00a0is funding to support one participant each from CU Denver and CU Anschutz.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Nominations should include: the attached application form; a curriculum vita or resume for the nominee; the nominator\u2019s name and position; and a brief paragraph from the nominator supporting the nomination.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Faculty, staff, and administrators are eligible. Nominees should show promise for leadership progression\u00a0at the University of Colorado Denver I Anschutz Medical Campus, or in higher education in general, and should be able to\u00a0commit to attending each session<\/b>\u00a0during the 2024-2025 academic year.<\/div>\n

The AMI suggests that candidates with at least 5-7 years of higher education experience and supervisory or leadership experience gain the most from the program, as they can contextualize and apply lessons immediately.<\/div>\n

A small group of former AMI participants will review the nominations and select\u00a0one\u00a0participant from each campus.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Please share this announcement with department chairs, directors, and other unit heads who may wish to nominate someone, to ensure as diverse a pool of nominees as possible.<\/div>\n

AMI 2024-2025 includes five face-to-face sessions (two are overnight sessions) that feature presentations and workshops delivered by higher education leaders and experts from Colorado and Wyoming. The program is built around fostering a cohesive cohort dynamic, enabling participants to hone their leadership acumen while forging connections with peers across the region. Session topic themes are: Leading in Ever-Changing Higher Education; Campus Cultures; Strengths Development; and the Future of Higher Education.
