We regret to inform you that Dr. Fernie Baca, who served as a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (CLDE) faculty in CU Denver’s School of Education & Human Development from 1976 – 2001, passed away on May 17, 2023. In addition to her teaching, Dr. Baca served for a number of years as CU Denver\u2019s associate vice chancellor for research. She retired with emeritus status from the University of Colorado in 2001. We extend our deepest sympathy to the Baca family.<\/p>\n
First-generation SEHD students have benefited from Dr. Baca\u2019s generosity for many years.
