{"id":16764,"date":"2022-12-20T13:30:21","date_gmt":"2022-12-20T20:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sehd.ucdenver.edu\/impact\/?p=16764"},"modified":"2022-12-20T13:44:38","modified_gmt":"2022-12-20T20:44:38","slug":"colorado-famli-program-deductions-begin-in-2023-leave-begins-in-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sehd.ucdenver.edu\/impact\/2022\/12\/20\/colorado-famli-program-deductions-begin-in-2023-leave-begins-in-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Colorado FAMLI program deductions begin in 2023, leave begins in 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"vertical-align: baseline\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Dear colleagues,<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"vertical-align: baseline\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">As you may have heard, i<\/span>n November 2020, Colorado voters passed Proposition 118, approving the creation of the State of Colorado\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/famli.colorado.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) program<\/a>. This social insurance program provides all Colorado workers a portion of their weekly salary for up to 12 weeks of leave to care for themselves or their families, with an additional four weeks leave for pregnancy or childbirth complications.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\">Payments into the program begin Jan. 1, 2023 and the expanded paid leave to Colorado workers begins in 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"vertical-align: baseline\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Click here to review the full announcement from Employee Services: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cu.edu\/employee-services\/collaborative-hr-services\/cu-campuses\/colorado-famli-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\"><span style=\"text-decoration: none\">https:\/\/www.cu.edu\/employee-services\/collaborative-hr-services\/cu-campuses\/colorado-famli-program<\/span><\/span><\/a><span class=\"normaltextrun\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"vertical-align: baseline\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\"><b>What this means for you<\/b><\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"vertical-align: baseline\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Beginning Jan. 1, 2023 ALL Colorado employees, including in-state faculty and university staff (not classified staff) will see a state-mandated after-tax deduction in their paychecks totaling 0.45% of their annual wages.
