Dear University Staff & 12-month Faculty: If you were hired before June 19, 2022 and haven\u2019t already used your <\/span>Juneteenth\/ P<\/span>ersonal Observance Day for <\/span>Fiscal Year 2022<\/span>, please be sure to do so before December 31, 2022.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You might like to refer to the announcement in the <\/span>May 2<\/span>nd<\/span> email from the CU President<\/span><\/a> and the CU Denver News email on May 3rd, which announced that the University of Colorado officially recognized Juneteenth as a state holiday. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Given the proximity of the holiday to our existing summer academic calendars, the university decided to give employees an additional holiday this year as a paid personal day of observance that they can take on <\/span>Juneteenth or another day of their choosing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Personal Observance Day for Fiscal Year 2022 should ideally be used by June 30, 2022, <\/span>but employees have until Dec 31, 2022, to use this day due to the short turn-around since being announced.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>To record this time on your MyLeave calendar, use Earnings Code \u201cPersonal Observance Day\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Looking ahead– Personal Observance Days for the period July 1, 2022 \u2013 June 30, 2023 can be used between July 1, 2022 \u2013 June 30, 2023 (Fiscal Year 2023).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
