As a reminder as we anticipate moving from one fiscal year into the next… This is a great time to be thinking about your vacation leave balance and plan ahead to take some time off if you need to. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Any full-time University Staff and 12-month Faculty with a balance over 352 hours (44 days) of vacation leave will lose excess hours during the annual leave sweep performed after the July payrolls. This leave sweep action does not apply to 9-month contract faculty, and classified Staff carryover hours are determined by years of service with the maximum of 336 hours. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Supervisors are encouraged to support their employees\u2019 use of their vacation leave entitlements.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Check Your Vacation Balance in My Leave<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You can view your projected leave balance by logging in to the employee portal, clicking the My Leave tile and using the month drop-down menu on the calendar page to navigate to July 2022. This will show your projected leave balance for July 1, taking into account your monthly leave accrual rate and any upcoming vacation leave you have approved and scheduled within My Leave.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Check Your Vacation Balance using the Leave Balances tile<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Employees can also use the Leave Balances tile in the employee portal to view their current balance.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how to find it:<\/span>
\n1. Log in to the employee portal.<\/span>
\n2. Go to the CU Resources Home dropdown menu at the top center of your screen.<\/span>
\n3. Select My Info and Pay.<\/span>
\n4. From that page, click on the Leave Balances tile to view your current leave<\/span>
\nbalance(s).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Using your current balance as a starting number, you\u2019ll need to add the leave you\u2019re set to<\/span>
\naccrue by June 30 and deduct any vacation you already have requested and approved to<\/span>
\nproject what your balance will be.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Reminder! The new Juneteenth\/Personal Observance Day for Fiscal Year 2022 should ideally be used by June 30, 2022, but employees will have until Dec 31, 2022, to use this day due to the short turn-around since being announced.
