\u2013 Presented by Dr. Erica Holyoke, candidate for Assistant\/Associate Professor, Tenure Track, Responsive Literacy Education (RLE)\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Dr. Holyoke will share an overview of her scholarship as focused on equity and relational teaching and learning in elementary schools, and in teacher preparation programs. In a thematic presentation of her research agenda, Dr. Holyoke will focus on restorative justice in literacy education, agency in teaching and learning, and collaborative and relational literacy practices. Her presentation will amplify the voices and experiences of children and teachers, speak to her current projects, and share anticipated future research innovations.<\/p>\n A brief bio for Dr. Erica Holyoke<\/strong>:<\/p>\n Erica Steinitz Holyoke currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Elementary and Special Education at Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire. Her scholarship focuses on equity-based, restorative, and relational literacies in early childhood and elementary teaching as well as in teacher preparation programs. She draws from humanizing and culturally sustaining pedagogies, and critical theories, including critical theories of love, to examine the transformative and innovative work in schools and teacher preparation programs. Dr. Holyoke relies on qualitative research methods and uses case study, ethnography, design-development research, and discourse analysis across her scholarship. She teaches classes to both undergraduate and graduate students around elementary literacy and social studies methods, teaching diverse learners, inclusive teaching and special education, building classroom communities, and teacher inquiry.<\/p>\n Dr. Erica Holyoke\u2019s CV can be found here<\/strong><\/a>.
