Faculty, staff, students, alumni and<\/strong>\u00a0members of the public welcome!<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u2013 Presented by Tom Su, candidate for Assistant Professor, Clinical Teaching Track for Couples & Family Therapy (CFT)\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n In his talk, Tom Su will give an overview of his teaching and supervision styles. In addition, he will talk about one of his favorite topics: working with intercultural couples. As more people travel outside of their cultural groups to find love, what are some opportunities and challenges do they face? And more importantly, how should we as therapists work with those culturally diverse relationships?<\/p>\n A brief bio for Tom Su:<\/strong><\/p>\n Tom obtained his master\u2019s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Kansas University, and he is currently in his last semester of the doctoral MFT program at Florida State University. He grew up in Southern China and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese in addition to English. He is passionate about teaching, and he has taught courses including Foundations of Counseling, Stress and Resilience, and Research Methods. In his dissertation, he researched what factors allow couples to manage their cultural differences with their partners.
