We had a busy fall reviewing the feedback offered to us about staff and faculty hopes for our work this year and planning for the spring semester. We want to share several initiatives\/events we have planned for spring and invite your participation!<\/p>\n<p>Events open to staff and faculty:<\/p>\n<p>-Zoom Lunch and Learn: Addressing Anti-Semitism on University Campuses facilitated by Dr. Chaya Abrams -2\/24, 12:00 PM- 1:00 PM. <a href=\"https:\/\/ucdenver.zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/tJUuceGhqTgoG9Dmw69wlaWGwVXMb1TO_6En\">Sign up here!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>-Book Club: Creating a Home in Schools: Sustaining Identities for Black, Indigenous, and Teachers of Color by Rios &amp; Longoria (2021), will meet via Zoom in March&#8211; and also have an opportunity to discuss by mail! <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSe17IonAsEYdU6qhM7V41SXMp0_1xnCp0Gbyj2t-of2Xxf_Sw\/viewform?usp=sf_link\">Sign up by 2\/15 here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>-Tentative (April): Zoom Lunch and Learn on Maximizing Accommodations in Online Teaching to Support All Learners -more details\/information to come!<\/p>\n<p>Other initiatives we are working on:<\/p>\n<p>-In collaboration with doctoral student facilitators, hosting protected student listening sessions to gain an understanding of students\u2019 experiences in the SEHD.<\/p>\n<p>-Plan to begin work on revising\/revisiting the role of committee in by-laws in collaboration with the new AD of EDI.<\/p>\n<p>-Collaborating with the Curriculum Committee and other partners across campus to increase visibility of religious observations and days\/months of recognition for historically marginalized communities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello from the DEI Committee!
