This makes her an asset to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/education.ucdenver.edu\/\">School of Education &amp; Human Development<\/a>, where she teaches in the MA in couple and family therapy (CFT) program.<\/p>\n<p>Brown, a licensed marriage and family therapist, uses herself as an example to illustrate what intersectionality means. \u201cI talk about who I am and my various identities and how those impact me as I walk through this world,\u201d she said. \u201cI am an African American, I\u2019m able-bodied, I don\u2019t identify as heterosexual because it doesn\u2019t fit for me.
