But attending an all English-speaking high school could have squelched this passion for Garcia-Morena, who grew up in a Spanish-speaking household and spent most of her formative years attending school in Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was really nervous. I could barely have a conversation in English,\u201d she said of her early high school days.
