Nominations Due March 2nd!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hello SEHD Faculty and Staff,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are reaching out to ask that you nominate one or more of our\nwonderful undergraduate students for recognition and also that you <strong>protect\nApril 24<\/strong><strong><sup>th<\/sup><\/strong><strong> from 5:30 \u2013 7:30 f<\/strong>or our\nannual Undergraduate Student Recognition Celebration!&nbsp; This is an\nincredibly joyful event and a time to share and celebrate with many of our\nundergraduate students and their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The areas in which you can nominate are listed below.&nbsp; You\ncan follow this <a href=\"https:\/\/ucdenverdata.formstack.com\/forms\/sehd_spring_awards_banquet\">LINK<\/a> to complete the\nnomination.&nbsp; <strong>We hope to have all nominations in by March 2<sup>nd<\/sup>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thank you,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Undergraduate Council<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Collegiality and Professionalism Recognition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This\naward is presented to one SEHD undergraduate student who has demonstrated\nextraordinary collegiality and professionalism with their colleagues, peers,\nand with faculty and staff during the 2019-2020 year. The student\u2019s collegial\ndispositions demonstrate a strong commitment to their academic and professional\ncommunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nstudent will be evaluated using the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Is a supportive and collaborative partner by investing in the shared responsibilities of a group;<\/li><li>Demonstrates a demeanor of humility and continued improvement. The nominee is willing to tolerate ambiguity for the sake of problem solving and consistent learning;<\/li><li>Maintains a strengths-based perspective of the communities with which they work;<\/li><li>Contributes to the learning and knowledge in courses;<\/li><li>Adheres to course, school, and university policies;<\/li><li>Communicates, in all forms (written, verbal, nonverbal, etc.) with peers, faculty and staff in ways that are clear, kind, and attuned to each person.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Outstanding Student Recognition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This\naward is presented to one SEHD undergraduate student who has demonstrated\noutstanding service, leadership, academic achievement during the 2019-2020\nyear, and is committed to serving the University community.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nstudent will be evaluated using the following criteria: &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Academic performance<\/li><li>Participation in on-campus and\/or off-campus activities\u00a0<\/li><li>Work experience while attending college\u00a0<\/li><li>Other exceptional qualifications or service \u00a0<\/li><li>Leadership experience<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Leadership Recognition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This\nrecognition is given to a student who has shown extraordinary leadership during\nthe 2019-2020 academic year at the University of Colorado Denver.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nstudent will be evaluated using the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Commitment to promoting diversity within the School of Education and Human Development \u00a0<\/li><li>Demonstration of organizational leadership abilities by holding leadership positions either within or outside of the campus      community \u00a0<\/li><li>Exhibition of interpersonal leadership skills by serving as a role model to the other students \u00a0<\/li><li>Utilization of leadership talents to initiate positive changes within the School of Education and Human Development<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Community Service Recognition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This\nrecognition is given to a SEHD student who has made outstanding contributions\nin community service during the 2019-2020 academic year at the University of\nColorado Denver.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nstudent will be evaluated using the following criteria:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Contribution of significant volunteer time and service to an organization or in the community during the 2019-2020 academic      \u00a0year (service must be performed on a volunteer basis) \u00a0<\/li><li>Participation in activities that significantly benefit and improve the overall community experience\u00a0<\/li><li>Dedication to promoting equity and access to opportunity<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For questions please contact Dean Seidl.
