{"id":14074,"date":"2020-02-11T14:30:00","date_gmt":"2020-02-11T21:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sehd.ucdenver.edu\/impact\/?p=14074"},"modified":"2020-02-11T14:31:40","modified_gmt":"2020-02-11T21:31:40","slug":"notice-of-campus-visit-dr-leslie-locke-wednesday-march-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sehd.ucdenver.edu\/impact\/2020\/02\/11\/notice-of-campus-visit-dr-leslie-locke-wednesday-march-11\/","title":{"rendered":"Notice of Campus Visit &#8211; Dr. Leslie Locke (Wednesday, March 11)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dr. Leslie Locke, candidate for&nbsp;<strong>Assistant\/Associate Professor, Leadership for Educational Organizations (LEO)<\/strong>&nbsp;will be coming to campus on Wednesday, March 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A brief bio on Dr. Leslie Locke: Leslie Ann Locke received her Ph.D. from Texas A&amp;M University in 2011.&nbsp; Her research interests include leadership for social justice and equity, schooling for students from marginalized groups, equity-oriented education policy, and qualitative methodologies.&nbsp; She is currently examining early college programs (partnerships between institutions of higher education and K12 schools) as social justice policy interventions in education. She served in a leadership role at an Early College High School in Texas from 2007-2011. Leslie has published in a variety of academic journals including the <em>Journal of Cases in Educational Leadership<\/em>, the <em>International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education, Whiteness and Education, <\/em>and <em>Educational Studies, <\/em>as well as three books related to her research interests<em>.&nbsp; <\/em>She has consistently presented her research at UCEA, AERA, and CRSEA. She is the program co-chair, for the&nbsp;Leadership for Social Justice SIG.&nbsp;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her research presentation will be at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11 in<strong>&nbsp;LSC 745.<\/strong>&nbsp;Her presentation is titled,&nbsp;<em>\u201cCritical Research and Teaching:&nbsp;So What?
