Despite these findings, it has been found that counselors and researchers lack understanding of HTR and experience ambivalence associated with immersion into deeper narratives of survivors of collective or group trauma. A combination of indigenous and non-indigenous treatment approaches and studies for Historical Trauma and HTR will be presented.
