Dr. Bud Talbot has been invited by Baylor University to give talks on the Learning Assistant Program. This program, started initially at CU Boulder, has now been put in place at over 75 institutions across the country for its important work in supporting STEM teaching and learning. \u00a0 At CU Denver, Learning Assistants are\u00a0students who have performed well in their science classes and who then return to a previously completed science class\u00a0in order help facilitate course transformation and learning for the current students. LAs engage with students by answering questions and facilitating discourse around the content.\u00a0 Bud and his colleagues support\u00a0about 60-70\u00a0LAs per semester semester who then impact about 1500 students each semester (over 3000 students\/year).<\/p>\n
