{"id":10866,"date":"2017-10-04T21:19:31","date_gmt":"2017-10-04T21:19:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sehd.ucdenver.edu\/impact\/?p=10866"},"modified":"2017-10-04T21:19:31","modified_gmt":"2017-10-04T21:19:31","slug":"sehd-staff-advisory-council-meeting-minutes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sehd.ucdenver.edu\/impact\/2017\/10\/04\/sehd-staff-advisory-council-meeting-minutes\/","title":{"rendered":"SEHD Staff Advisory Council Meeting Minutes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 3:30p.m. \u2013 4:45 pm<\/p>\n<p>Location: LSC 620<\/p>\n<p>In Attendance: Rachel Cornelius, Shelley Gomez, Tim Halliday, Lindsay Harn, Tony Romero, Bridget Sabo<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li>Election Announcements:\n<ul>\n<li>Welcome Tim \u2013 thank you for subbing for Jessica Coon while she is on leave!<\/li>\n<li>Post to Impact Kelly and Tim are now on SAC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Covering Jessica SAC responsibilities while she is on leave:\n<ul>\n<li>General web updates for any of the other SAC pages (PD fund, About Us, etc. as needed) Bridget<\/li>\n<li>Review\/Organize the SEHD Staff Council Email periodically &#8211; Rachel<\/li>\n<li>Schedule our SAC monthly meetings \u2013 Rachel<\/li>\n<li>Write the agenda \u2013 Rachel<\/li>\n<li>Schedule rooms &#8211; Rachel<\/li>\n<li>Keep us moving on initiatives &#8211; Rachel<\/li>\n<li>Take notes at our meetings Bridget<\/li>\n<li>Update the TYYMMD section of our website Bridget (request access to post on Impact)<\/li>\n<li>Upload our meeting minutes &#8211; Bridget<\/li>\n<li>Get the Dean\u2019s approval for PD requests and send out approval notices to staff -TIM<\/li>\n<li>Let SAC know of new hires \u2013 Shelley will contact Tricia<\/li>\n<li>Update the staff directory with new hires and pictures &#8211; Lindsay<\/li>\n<li>Faculty Meeting recap \u2013 Lindsay will type recap and ask for the email to be sent out to faculty and staff discussing social capital\n<ul>\n<li>Provide link to Ted Talk<\/li>\n<li>Include some suggestions<\/li>\n<li>Where SAC can help<\/li>\n<li>Solicit for faculty help? \u2013 Will ask the Diversity Committee for help promoting and supporting staff and faculty events<\/li>\n<li>Reminder of our upcoming events<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>What do we need for support from the Deans? What messages can they send out?\n<ul>\n<li>Congrats to Employee of the Month &#8211;\u00a0 Allen will be sending out congratulation recognition to the employee of the month<\/li>\n<li>TYYMMD acknowledgement \u2013 Dr. Allen will also be sending recognition<\/li>\n<li>Get our events on deans, faculty calendars and ask for support at our events<\/li>\n<li>Ask for co-sponsor events &#8211; This was discussed however due to university budgeting restrictions this may not be possible<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>PD with most votes: Yoga \u2013 Shelley. Shelley is planning the event for November.<\/li>\n<li>PD with second most votes: Stress management workshop with the Counseling Center. Bridget planning the event for April.<\/li>\n<li>Candy Gram Sale:\n<ul>\n<li>Suggestions for improvement?<\/li>\n<li>Get order forms for doors printed with instructions on how to buy candy grams\n<ul>\n<li>Rachel to check Dollar store \/ Costco \/ Target<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Chomp \u2013 suggestions for improvement?\n<ul>\n<li>Sign up for potluck food<\/li>\n<li>Break up by category or by last name<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Winter Party \u2013 room? Can we make 745 work? Suggestions?\n<ul>\n<li>Email from Lori Ryan re: Teacher Education faculty meeting on the same day. The Teacher Education faculty have moved their meeting by one hour to allow time for the<\/li>\n<li>Food will be set up in open area adjacent to room 745 to allow for more room for seating<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Future Planning for AY 17-18\n<ul>\n<li>JANUARY\n<ul>\n<li>Community Service Event around MLK Day<\/li>\n<li>Check with Sandy about MLK Day of Service that she had mentioned planning (Bridget)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>FEBRUARY\n<ul>\n<li>Staff and Faculty party? Sadie\u2019s Hawkins Party? Revisit in November meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>MARCH\n<ul>\n<li>Spring Semester Staff Meeting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>APRIL\n<ul>\n<li>PD \u2013Counseling Center workshop on stress management (Bridget)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>MAY\n<ul>\n<li>5\/2\/18 \u2013 Room PLA#3 available! (Rachel)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>JUNE\n<ul>\n<li>4<sup>th<\/sup> Annual Summer BBQ \u2013 revisit in November meeting<\/li>\n<li>Time of day?
