9:00 – 9:30 Teaching Presentation
9:30 – 9:50 Presentation Q & A
Faculty, staff, students, alumni and
members of the public welcome!
In this presentation, Dr. Montes will discuss linking teaching and scholarship to current and historical socio-political contexts. For example, in our university classes, how can we address COVID 19’s disproportionate effect on marginalized communities? In what ways can we make police brutality against Black people and the Black Lives Matter movement central to our teaching? How do we address issues of equity and access when education systems shift to all online formats?
– Presented by Dr. Iván Montes, candidate for Clinical Assistant Professor, Teaching Track for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (CLDE)
