On August 8, 2014, a white police officer killed 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. He was black, unarmed, and shot six times. While the circumstances of his death are not yet clear, outrage at his killing sparked protests across the country. The protests continue today in part because the events in Ferguson resonate with the racism experienced by millions of people beyond Ferguson. Please join us for a thoughtful discussion led by three speakers who will share with us how they situate the events in Ferguson in the larger context of race relations and white supremacy in the U.S. (Approximately 45 minutes of this event will be reserved for Q&A.)
Free and open to the public.
