I am writing you to share information about post-doctoral award offerings through the Fulbright Scholar Program, in particular to Brazil. Over the last couple of years, the program to Brazil has grown overall to become one of the largest in the entire Fulbright Scholar Program, and some of these new opportunities are geared specifically for early career scholars:
This opportunity allows scholars to conduct research in any specialization of interest. Grantees can also choose to offer periodic seminars in their area of research, mentor graduate and undergraduate students and help to enhance interdisciplinary teaching and research at a Brazilian host institution. The Fulbright Scholar Program to Brazil also offers several grants through its Social Sciences and Humanities award, among others.
Feel free to visit the Catalog of Awards for further details on these and other opportunities. Helpful resources, including sample project statements, tips for applying and content guidelines, are available at http://www.cies.org/us_scholars/us_awards/.
The application deadline for the 2015-16 Fulbright U.S. Scholar competition is August 1, 2014, leaving ample time to start a current application submission. Please feel free to share this opportunity with interested students and colleagues. I am more than happy to help and will continue to work with applicants to craft an application submission in advance of the U.S. regional peer review process.
