We’d love to have a CU-Denver Intern for August 21 – May 21!

Internship Description:

Johnson & Wales University is looking for a concentration-year intern to work in Health & Counseling Services. This is a unique hybrid position that will involve both clinical and community skills.

Approximately 85% of the time, the intern will provide one-on-one mental health counseling to students at the university. Johnson & Wales University provides a supportive learning environment for students who wish to gain clinical skills with plentiful supervision. Common issues students present within counseling include anxiety, depression, eating disorders, relational issues, grief and loss, and conflict management. The intern will also have the opportunity to co-facilitate a therapy group and participate in additional trainings.

The other 15% of the time, the intern will be involved in educational programming and outreach. Responsibilities will include helping to plan, market, and participate in campus outreach events such as Mental Health Awareness Week, Body Love, Nutrition Month, and the Health & Wellness Fair. The intern will also have the opportunity to collaborate with university staff to provide educational programming around sexual assault and drug and alcohol use.

This is a great opportunity for a CU-Denver student to gain a wide variety of skills and experiences, as well as explore their interests in clinical social work.
