CU Information Strategy & Services (ISS) is implementing a change to Outlook effective today, September 30, 2026.
Email messages older than two years will automatically move from your primary mailbox to your Online Archive. Your email is not deleted and remains accessible through Outlook and Outlook on the web.
Microsoft 365 email storage continues to grow across the university. Implementing an archive policy helps manage mailbox growth, improves long-term sustainability, and ensures storage resources are used consistently across all users. It also helps maintain service performance and reduces the need to purchase additional primary storage.
The Online Archive appears as a separate mailbox in Outlook and Outlook on the web. You can browse folders just as you do in your primary mailbox. It is also accessible via the Outlook mobile application.
