Hello TC’s!
Technology Update
Beginning July 7, 2009, we will be extending the LSC 1100 computer lab hours for student use. This will allow students access to the lab anytime the Lawrence Street Center is open if the lab is not reserved for a class/training. You can view the computer lab schedule at here. The reservations will include all requests for lab space and classes or trainings that allow use by other students will be marked Available for Open Use.
Building hours are as follows:
Monday-Friday 6am-7:30pm and Saturday 7:30am-5pm (NO SUNDAY HOURS)
To access the lab beyond regular hours of 8-5 Monday-Friday you must go to 13XX LSC and have your ID card encoded for the SEHD Computer Lab. You must be a currently enrolled student to be granted extended hours access and you will need to have access renewed each term. If you are in the lab after the building closes, you will not be required to leave, however, if you take the elevator down, you will not be able to get back up to the lab by use of elevator. Also, if the door to the lab closes, you will only be able to get back in if someone from within the lab opens the door for you. The building security will NOT be able to let any students into the lab.
If you have any questions please email us at sehdtechteam@ucdenver.edu.
Internships:
Laredo TCs- Laredo will not be starting immediately when teachers come back in late July/early August. UCD is working with the principal and new site team to get a welcome letter sent to all the TCs placed there. Please know that this is a very exciting school site, and they are thrilled to welcome new TCs this fall. With the late addition of them as a partner school, TCs will be coming on board a little later than other Aurora schools.
RMSEL TCs- See the summer update email from Sam Bennett regarding fall course schedule. We will be emailing you soon about what courses to enroll for.
All TCs- If your internship starts the same week as UCD please email your professors to let them know. Contact me if you don’t have access to emails for professors. You will be expected to communicate with your professors that you will be missing the first week of class (for daytime classes only; you will be attending your nighttime courses on the university campus). Your professors know your partnership school expectations and will not penalize you for non-attendance – as long as you communicate with them.
Waitlists
Thank you for your continued patience. We are working on additional sections in the next 2 weeks for waitlists and will send out email notifications after this time.
I hope this edition finds you having a great start to your summer whether it be traveling, taking courses, or gearing up to start with us in the fall term. Please read below for some common questions and information to help you navigate your way through your program. Congrats to all those who have finished their licensure and/or educational masters programs! And a big thanks you to all those who have been patient in starting their programs this summer and fall regarding course changes, full sections, and have been flexible with program starts. We really do appreciate your understanding.

2009-10 Praxis Bulletin
Remember! You must take the Place or Praxis Licensure Exam before your third internship. Check out this bulletin to see when you can take the next Praxis II exam (we also have hard copies in the Student Services Center, Lawrence Street Center, Room 701). Keep time on your side, take it early!
If you have any questions about which exam to take for your content area, please contact Meredith Lopez. Once you have received your passing scores please send a copy of the full score report to Rachel Fraser in the Student Services Center, in Lawrence Center building, room 701. Please note that checking the box for UCD when taking licensure exam is not the same thing as submitting scores to SSC. We would like to retain the full score report which contains sub scores as well. A PDF, copy, or fax of your score report are all acceptable. You keep your original at all times. To replace it can cost up to $50.
If you are starting your third internship this fall and we do not have your score report, please send it to Rachel immediately. Please email it to rachel.fraser@ucdenver.edu or fax to 303.315.6311. We must have your scores on record 20 days before you start your internship.
